Collection: Rhodochrosite Cab Collection: Known as the, Inca Rose

First discovered by the Incas in a cave near Argentina's Capillitas Provence, early 13th century.  It has been valued by many ancient civilizations. The Incas believed it was the blood of former royalty turned to stone.  In modern days, Rhodochrosite was discovered 1813 in the silver mines of Kapnic, Transylvania, now Romania.  Most prominent collections today, contain specimens from the Sweet Home Mine in Alma, Colorado.  Its name originates from the Greek ("Rhodon"- Rose ) & ("Chroma"- Color)
