Birth stone of March. Latin word for "Water-aqua" "Marine-of the sea".  To protect themselves and their ships, fisherman, sailors, pirates, have all worn this stone. Its blue color was thought to calm and cool temperaments while at sea. Was called by sailors "Mermaids Treasure". Soothsayers of the middle ages, called it the "magic mirror". The Romans wore this as an amulet guarding against envy & spite. The Greeks believed it to enhance mental clarity and increase wisdom.

Discovered in Peru in 1987, this stone is new among the minerals of the world. Greek word "anhudros-without water" Mostly glacier blue in color its a perfect companion stone for Aquamarine. Having a peaceful energy that is calming and soothing. Associated with Aquarius.
